December 2021-My name is Jalon Ward. I'm a senior at SMSA. I am currently developing my capstone. My capstone is gonna be on How online school has affected kids with disabilities, I have a brother named John Ward who goes through autism and due to the pandemic he struggles with online school, My brother is getting little to no education per day which doesn't sit well with me, So i'm going to be helping my brother at home and conducting my own little learning sessions with him, I haven't decided what we will be doing but I believe an Idea will arise very soon. Online learning has taught me lots of self discipline and taking the initiative. with being at home, you just have so much freedom and you get to spend your time however you want. So you forget your tasks and your responsibilities. It's been pretty hard staying focused while not being in person at the school I've learned so much these past few months and although the future is uncertain, as it will always be, I am learning to let myself grow without feeling ashamed of being a beginner in life. My online learning experience has been different than what I’m used to. I love that I get to work from the comfort of my home however, I would rather be in a physical classroom doing my work because it gives me the opportunity to ask questions when needed, and in my own opinion, it is much more effective than online learning. Compared to learning in a physical classroom online classes seem more difficult because you don’t get the hands-on learning like you do in a physical classroom. In the future, I’d choose a physical classroom over online any day. The reason being, it’s easier for me to understand the lesson plans and put my new knowledge into effect.

Capstone has been a little hard because my brother is having a hard time getting his education due to the online learning. It's been hard for me as well because I have been helping him do his online work while doing mines as well. Honestly I think this is teaching me how to multitask and focus. I really think the work that I'm doing with him is going to pay off in the long run. Because he's slowly making progress. I feel like he's doing better taking the initiative of trying to make his bed without direction. He's also not closing the computer at all either when he's in online classes but I know he's still struggling to understand the lessons. But I feel he will slowly start to understand if we take one step at a time.

February 2021-Hi My name is Jalon and this my journal entry for February, At the moment right now high school isn't going well right now, school work has really been piling up on me, and ever since I started outdoor track i haven't really gotten a chance to do schoolwork early. But besides that everything else seems to be going well including my capstone i started some service with my brother and he's been progressing ever since i have been making him do fun multiple choice games describe the games so we understand and he gets majority of them right I've also been with him in his music therapy sessions, making sure he's engaging online. I'm going to make sure I get all my work in and make time for myself to do that work even if I have to skip track as long as you speak to your coaches…. because my schoolwork is far more important.
